Why pregnancy is a spiritual event? (1 min read)
Recently from my conversation with my student Amy, I learned that she just knew when her baby was conceived. Even before any drugstore pregnancy test or symptoms.
Surprisingly, this intuitive knowledge isn't as far-fetched as it might seem. In fact, it makes total sense if we take pregnancy from a spiritual perspective.
According to Vedic philosophy, conception transcends mere physical biology. It is a deeply spiritual process, where the union of semen (shukra) and egg cell (shonita) occurs under the influence of the soul's past actions, known as klesha karma. This union initiates the formation of the embryo in a predetermined manner. And the soul's journey of this new incarnation—such as its class of birth, lifespan, and future experiences, is again shaped by the klesha karma.
Consider the profound implications: the woman's body becomes a sacred vessel facilitating the union of these divine forces.
Reflecting, I've often felt a deep sense of gratitude for reincarnating in a woman's body—a vessel capable of nurturing and bringing forth new life in such a deeply spiritual manner.
In Amy’s account, she described experiencing a profound sense of contentment, accompanied by sensations like a throbbing heart and goosebumps—a description reminiscent of the awakening of Kundalini energy. Bear in mind Kundalini awakening can manifest in physical sensations like rashes and uncontrollable shaking, signifying awakening and alignment with higher consciousness.
Amy’s experience serves as a potent reminder of the sacredness inherent in the process of conception—an event that transcends the physical and touches the very essence of our spiritual being.
